Hoan Tran, a child of wartime Vietnam, immigrated to the United States in the 1980s under a refugee relocation program for the politically persecuted. He comes from a loving family and is one of eight children. His father was a Democratic Military Officer working in the Intelligence Community, and his mother worked as a bookseller while taking care of their children.After a long and difficult journey through three refugee camps in the Philippines, Guam Island, and Fort Chaffee, Arkansas, Hoan finally settled in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1978 with the sponsorship of St. Francis Catholic Church.

At 16, he began pursuing the American Dream, working to assimilate into American life by learning a new language, adapting to Western culture, and coping with the challenges of the four seasons. His first job was as a busser at Wendy’s Hamburgers, as he was still learning English. He attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City, studying Microbiology and Chemistry. He later taught at a well-known Jesuit institution, Rockhurst College in Kansas City, where he was one of the younger faculty members.

In 1987, he joined the pharmaceutical industry with Merck & Co., thriving in his career and establishing a strong tenure of over 30 years. During this time, he held various leadership roles in Sales, Sales Training, Leadership Development, Marketing, Operations, Business Development, and Strategic Planning, all with a focus on patient care.Most recently, Hoan became a published author with his first book, A Blessed Life, released through Newman Springs Publishing.The concepts he has learned and mastered have prepared him to develop solutions to diverse personal and professional challenges. Over the years, he has offered advice and suggestions to friends, colleagues, and organizations. Hoan has also engaged in multiple public speaking events within the Vietnamese community and hosts a YouTube talk show, The Journey of Hoan Vu. Through this platform, he shares anecdotal stories to highlight life’s principles and guidance, inspired by his own journey from Vietnam to America as a child.

Gentijana was born in Macedonia and moved to the U.S. with her parents, who worked hard to create a better life for their family as first-generation Americans. Growing up in southern Illinois, she spent her childhood helping at her parents’ restaurant alongside her two sisters, developing a deep appreciation for hard work and community.

Her passion for helping people led her to earn a nursing degree, which eventually opened the door to a career in pharmaceuticals and brought her to Kansas City. It was there that she met Hoan, a manager whose leadership and story inspired Gentijana to dream bigger and believe in the limitless potential of the human spirit.

Now, as Boundless’ Social Connections Leader, Gentijana is proud to help others unlock their own potential, sharing stories and ideas that prove the magic of the human spirit can overcome any obstacle.

Born and raised in Chicago, Brendan grew up in a large Irish family with his four siblings. As the grandson of first-generation immigrants, he was inspired by his father’s perseverance as a business owner and his mother’s unwavering care and empathy. Their values shaped his belief in hard work and the power of community.

Brendan earned his degree in marketing and finance, which eventually led him to a career in pharmaceuticals. There, he met Hoan, whose leadership and story reaffirmed Brendan’s natural drive to help people succeed. It has always been in Brendan’s nature to encourage others to be their best selves and push beyond their limits.

A lifelong hockey player, Brendan still hits the ice when he can and spent years building connections while working at a local country club. Now, as Boundless’ Client Partnership Leader, he’s dedicated to helping others unlock the magic of their own potential and embrace the power of a positive mindset to shape their reality.
